First, I want to say, I didn’t want to write this. Too much pain, and too many memories. But things have to change. Change only comes from knowledge. But what really needs to happen, politicians do not want to do. The following was printed in a little booklet from RBC Ministries, written by a high school student after Columbine, name unknown. The student had seen so much death, that it is worth remembering, as we take into account the direction of America and the leaders we choose. There are some things such as 911 and this from Columbine to Florida, we should never forget:

Fortunately most do not know the pain of a mentally ill child who goes off the deep end, and never gets the help they need. Believe it or not Cruz was not evil. Neither was my son, who was bi-polar and committed suicide in 1999 by blowing himself up with 6 sticks of stolen dynamite. Teachers, scholars, you of all people should be aware. This young man, like many before him, has a mental illness. He lost his mother. He was in foster homes. But, deep inside, he was coming unglued. My son was up all night till 3am talking to a friend on the phone and came in my room sobbing the night before he did his act. He had suicide ideation since he was 15. Scientist’s, neurologists, psychiatrists? It is Chromosome 18 from the father. Alzheimer’s is Chromosome 19. Why not look to the day when scientists and neurologist’s can make headway and go in the front lobes of the brain and do laser surgery and fix mentally ill, and cure Alzheimer’s!! And by the way, my son attended a Christian school from K-6th grade, and thank God was saved 8/2/91. Then came puberty, and a gradual decline. I know where he is, waiting at the gates. We are all sinners saved by grace.
Bi-polar’s that I think Cruz is, go off the deep end. All it takes is one act in a matter of minutes without “thinking”…because they can’t. Look at Robin Williams, Ernest Hemmingway, his niece Margo, Carrie Fisher, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Jim Carry, Jonathan Winters, as well as General George Patten and Winston Churchill. What needs to happen, is school, SAU, any Court, DCYF, psychological, psychiatric and DIAGNOSIS, RECORDS TO BE UNSEALD AT 18, when legally an adult. Then they couldn’t pass background checks. But with Cruz? All bells went off and the FBI failed. Police failed. I gave police my son’s records. And unless they have a parent/relative that had this mental illness, the only way a psychiatrist can diagnose, is by OBSERVATION. And Cruz fit the bipolar bill. God created him too, and my son, and Pastor Rick Warren too, whose bi-polar son ALSO committed suicide. We do not live in the dark ages. My son was saved, knew Jesus, but his brain (chemical imbalance) was screwed up…and this young man’s, who was tormented, missed his mother, and couldn’t handle what other’s no doubt could. Evil? The act was, but, God still loves him. I know that I know my son is in Heaven waiting for me at the gates, as he was saved, 8/2/91. When you read, ask yourself, what if one of my children ever went off the deep end? So many of our Veterans too, come home, and they are changed.

I could have been going through what Cruz did, with my own son. My Bj, William who had knives and a sword, wanted to buy a gun, before his suicide. If you wanted to see a total breakdown in a mentally ill young person, I have seen it all. Incidentally, I am an open book. Change doesn’t happen by hiding “secrets”. What I went through too, with my son’s suicide was more than any mother should endure, and it cost me a mini stroke as well. A diagnosed kid, with suicide ideation since 15, bi polar as can be. Highs on his own juice, manic, rapid speech, ideas flowing like a magpie. Then when he did something stupid, like climbing a telephone pole, (afraid of heights) after the fire dept had to get him down, plummeting to a depression and lows you can’t believe. Mania..The 2 polars of extreme. I saw my son at 16 in a straight jacket, saw him cutting himself, placed in mental health facilities through courts and through my own persistence to get him help. And now they are all closed. NH has NOTHING! Not to mention foster parents in the “system” who are only out for the money.
I’m saying all this to say this. They can take all the guns away. But has it helped in all the terrorist attacks in Socialized Europe? Countries where you haven’t got our 2nd Amendment, are run by dictators, including Venezuela. The left wants a ban on guns, so they can “control the masses” with Communism. Then the organized soldiers come in so they can take down our constitution…ie Soros, and Obama, and the Bill Ayer, Marxist mandates the left wants. I read Ayn Rand. There’s an interesting book on Amazon, Rand vs Obama…a hypothetical argument. Because Ayn saw as a Russian Jew, as a young child the Bolshevik Revolution and the soldiers smashing up her father’s store, then later killing Czar Nicholas and his whole family. Castro did the same, and its happening now in Venezuela, and even worse in Syria. THAT is what Obama and George Soros, Clintons, and dear Nancy Pelosi and Schumer wants in America. Instead what we need is better and more psychiatrists, and mental health facilities, regulated with humane decent treatment! Not like the early 1900’s when they all got closed down in the 50’s. Incidentally, Christians too can suffer from mental illnesses. There were two other suicides from Christian families I knew since the 80’s. One young man’s father an evangelist heads YWAM in Boston. It is genetic, but, in my case, no one wanted to hear about my sons father, since he was long gone and we were divorced. He had a brother and two sisters who were twins, and one was bipolar, and the other in an institution in MI. (I should have known better, but love is blind.)
So..I am in agreement with the enclosed article by Dan Flynn of the Spectator. I’ve seen more at 79 than you young uns’. I remember WWII and at least 8 of my neighbors lost sons and husbands. When Ike became President, America started to boom again. We had clean living, went to church, and had prayer in school. What we didn’t have was equal rights for Blacks. And there was horrific discrimination in our armed services. My high school class up here in NH though were over achievers. And Black people (we had only about 5 kids in high school then) went to church, dressed decent, and studied, and along with the rest of us, loved America, and our flag. What has changed? In part Billie Graham and others are right, we took God and prayer out of schools; and with that, ethics, character, morals, learning how to act with manners, respect. Building self esteem comes with a respect and love of God, country, and our fellow man. NOT just Black lives matter, ALL lives matter, and God created us ALL equal, with the same blood. Be careful what voice inside you listen to. It either comes from God or Satan.
However, the only thing that is going to stop young mentally ill shooters, is for their SEALD records to be released at 18 when they are legally an adult. How do I, a 79 year old woman reach Congress. I’ve tweeted my head off to not much avail. But, surprising, most people don’t even realize that all juvi records are seald for the privacy of the child. Wherefore, I gave my son’s records to police. I didn’t know what he could pull.
The local school Superintendent of Schools, (SAU’s), Juvi Courts, School records, counseling, psychological, psychiatric, tests, inherited mental illnesses and behavior and diagnosis, NEED TO BE RELEASED IN ANYONE MENTALLY ILL AT 18. Only then, will these potential shooters not be able to pass background checks, and it should too, send a red flag to police, that this kid tried. THERE NEEDS TO BE A FEDERAL LAW, MANDATATING ALL SCHOOLS, IN ALL STATES INCLUDING JUDGES, DCYF, ETC. THAT AT 18…ITS UNSEALD.
Would this be taken to Federal and higher courts? Yep, and it would have to go all the way to the US Supreme Court as well. But it would work.

The sight of traumatized teenagers demanding gun control strikes as demagoguery of the worst sort.
Nobody should or does call the kids demagogues. But nobody dares call the kids anything, and that’s the point. The base adults politicizing a tragedy grasp that children enduring something so horrible as a crazed gunman stand immune from counterarguments and criticism. Responding with any dissenting opinion, no matter how civilly put, makes for bad optics. Understanding this, ideologues use the kids as proxies. This cowardice ensures a monologue, not a dialogue—or at least demonization for anyone who dares start a dialogue by disagreeing. The issue—whether to ignore the Constitution out of a belief that it inhibits good public policy—calls for robust discussion, not a shut-up-everyone sermon.
Many people do not agree that new gun control laws prevent a determined, unstable person from breaking them. The school prohibited the gunman from its grounds. He broke that rule. Numerous laws prohibit bringing firearms onto school grounds. The gunman ignored them. And, of course, laws against murder exist. He refused to follow them, too. The problem seems too complex for a solution as simple as gun control to fix.
Beyond policy objections, process objections exist. The Second Amendment to the Constitutions protects individuals against federal encroachment on their rights to keep and bear arms. How does any political operator operate on the assumption that the Constitution does not exist, or, if it does, exists the way the Queen of England does—as a symbolic nod to a bygone era? One needs to acknowledge, it seems, the 231-year-old elephant in the room.
One can buy into the idea of students enthusiastically organizing a walkout over gun control (or cold Chicken McSchool, abbreviated recess, mean math teachers, or any issue you can imagine). But believing the idea that they organized a mass march on Washington scheduled for next month just days removed from the carnage seems gullible.
“You never want a serious crisis to go to waste,” Rahm Emanuel famously said. Someone, an adult, took his words to heart here.”

Dear Lord, I ask and implore you Lord, to convict the hearts of those who read this, our politicians I send it too, and for the compassion for those who lead my state of NH, FL, and
all the states in America, both locally and Federally. YOU Lord are the only one who can
change hardened hearts, so that this time, with so many young lives taken, we see the truths,
and strive for real change. God, help us, see the real truth here, that is not guns. Guns don’t
kill, people do. But, guns can protect. Ask the women in Europe and Germany now who
are being assaulted by Arab immigrants and raped, if they would like to carry a concealed
weapon. But, they are outlawed over there. There needs to be BALANCE in all things, in
all decisions, in all recourse, and balance that makes logical, Godly sense. Give us discernment
Lord, to see the truth from the fake, and help us to legislate laws Federally that will go down
to the states. Lastly, God, I pray for the families that buried their children and loved ones, and
I implore you Lord to help them deal with the pain, as you did me, when I buried my own son. I ask that you change the “stinken” thinking in our local SAU’s who think they know it all when they don’t. And that the few psychiatrists that work with courts do so ONLY to help, not play political games. These kids need help in earnest, and do not get it, instead are seen as outcasts.
Awaken us Lord, in America, with a hunger for your presence, and your word, and I plead for
a new revival reaching all across our land as you did with Azuza St. God pour your Holy Spirit
on our President, our Vice President, and all those in Congress, to legislate and make Godly, rational good decisions. Jesus you are and always have been America’s HOPE. In this I pray, with much sorrow, Amen.
