Christians and Politics

Scene_at_the_Signing_of_the_ConstitI’ve just ran across a little booklet I’ve had for a long time, from Focus On The Family, by Chuck Colson, “Do Christians Belong in Politics?”  Everyone in my era knows who Chuck Colson is, but, you younger readers may not.  Charles served under President Richard Nixon from 1969-73, as counsel (lawyer) to the President.  He pleaded guilty to Watergate related offenses in 1974 and spent seven months in prison.  Colson was thereafter Chairman of Prison Fellowship, in Washington, D.C., an international prison outreach he founded in 1976.  What excerpts I will write here came from his book, Kingdoms in Conflict, a PDF version at the end. Wherefore, as I begin this, let me reiterate again, how terribly important it is for Christians especially, but ALL youth to learn and understand our history in America.  We were blessed beyond compare, with all the work our Founding Fathers did on our behalf.  We have a country, a Republic, with the US Constitution, the First Amendment and it’s Establishment Clause, that is the most amazing experiment known to mankind.  Embrace it and what you have been given.

For all those who came here from other countries, I beg you to learn what this great country is all about; and read, learn, and absorb, giving allegiance to OUR American Flag, and our laws, which produced the best democratic society in all of the world.  Therefore, too, let me add, that our Founding Fathers, based it all on a living God, Jesus Christ.  Who too, at one time, held “church” in the Rotunda of  the US Capital.  From George Washington, Adams, Franklin, Jefferson, and my idol, James Madison, author of the huge volumes of Federalist Papers, these men, gave us their heart and very soul in reverence and toil, to give us the greatest foundation of laws known to mankind.  For it has “worked”, where all else failed in other countries.  When you come here “act” like an American and become a citizen.  I am too, bothered by small “communities” throughout America who still adhere to the countries and ways which they came from, whether Hispanic, Chinese, or Arab; when you come here, learn English, learn American laws, and history or go back where you came from.  BE an AMERICAN! WAVE an AMERICAN FLAG!  My grandparents did, coming from Germany in the early 1900’s. But then they came through Ellis Island and became citizens immediately.

Therefore, I am of the firm belief that all who call themselves Christians need to be involved in politics, else, it has the repercussions of electing those that could be a threat to our U.S. Constitution, laws/courts/church/state structures, with a horrific outcome. It is imperative that we take our God given rights to vote, and express our views VERY seriously.   America cannot afford to have our conservative Christians to take a backseat in apathy with the very fabric of our Republic at stake.   That is why I feel it is so imperative that you understand fully too, WHO and WHAT they stand for in EVERY candidate you vote for, and all that are over our airwaves promoting causes.  If it is not Biblical?  Don’t for it.  If someone that is on a  conservative ticket, is pro choice? You in all conscience under our scriptures, should not vote for him or her.  Use as Patrick Henry wrote, “Commonn Sense.”

From Colson:  “Both church and state assert standards and values in society; both seek authority; both compete for allegiance.  As members of both the religious and the political spheres, the Christian is bound to face conflict.

The conflict is particularly apparent in the Judeo Christian tradition because of the assertion that the God of both the Old and New Testament Scriptures is King.  That has been an offense to the proud and powerful since the beginning – and the reason Jews and Christians alike have been systematically persecuted.

The tension between the Kingdom of God and the Kingdoms of man runs like an unbroken thread through the history of the past 2,000 years.  It began not long after Christ’s birth.  Herod, the Roman appointed King over the Jews and as vicious a tyrant as ever lived arrived from the East seeking the ‘King of the Jews’.  Though not a believer, Herod knew the ancient Jewish prophecies that a child would be born to reign over them, ushering in the Kingdom of peace and might.

The distinction Christ made is clear; both church and state have a clear and distinct roles ordained by God.  The issue is how to apply these teachings to each institution in today’s volatile world.  ‘Christ did not give the keys of the Kingdom to Caesar nor the sword to Peter,’ wrote a contemporary scholar.  In God’s provision the state is not to seize authority over ecclesiastical or spiritual matters, nor is the church to seek authority over political matters.  Yet the constant temptation of each is to encroach upon the other.

The passing-through mindset is represented by those who believe they are simply sojourners with loyalties only in the Kingdom beyond.  Patriotism has become a dirty word to them, particularly in the wake of Vietnam, ” (now Iraq and Afghanistan) “and they believe it their real duty to oppose the United States in just about every endeavor on just about every front.  These two extremes miss the kind of patriotism Augustine had in mind.  He believed that while as Christians we are commanded to love the whole world, practically speaking we cannot do so.” We cannot love an enemy either that wants to annihilate us and kill and destroy in the name of Allah!  “It is God’s calling that we ‘pay special regard’ to those around us in that state.  We love the world by loving the specific community in which we live.

C.S. Lewis likened the love of country to our love for the home and community in which we were raised.  It is a natural love of the place where we grew up, he said, ‘love of old acquaintances, of familiar sights, sounds, smells.’  He also pointed out however, that in love of country, as in love of family, we don’t love our spouses/children only when they are good.  Similarly, a patriot sees the flaws of his country, acknowledges them, weeps for them,  but remains faithful in love.  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke of his love for his country even as he attempted to change laws. ‘Whom you would change, you must first love,’ he said. ”

Colson went on to say, “There are at least three compelling reasons Christians must be involved in politics and government.  First, as citizens of the nation-state, Christians have the same civic duties all citizens have; to serve on juries, to pay taxes, to vote, to support candidates they think Godly and best qualified.  They are commanded to pray for and respect governing authorities.  (For years Christian fundamentalists shunned the ‘sinful’ political process, even to the extent of not voting.  Whatever else may be said about it, the Moral Majority as well as the Christian Coalition, performed a valuable service bringing these citizens back to the mainstream.”  Now, though, these organizations have taken a backseat to the “Tea Party”.

“Third, Christians have an obligation to bring transcendent moral values into public debate.  All law implicitly involves morality; the popular idea that you ‘ can’t legislate morality’; is a myth. Morality is legislated every day from the vantage point of one value system or another.  The question is not whether we will legislate morality, but, whose morality we will legislate. ”  And abortion is front and foremost with this issue.

“I would like to end on a triumphant note, announcing that ultimate peace and harmony can be achieved through human efforts.  But, that utopian illusion is shattered by the splintered history of the human race.  Governments rise; even the most powerful fall.  Where then is hope?  It is in the fact that the Kingdom of God has come to earth – the Kingdom announced by Jesus Christ in that obscure Nazareth synagogue 2,000 years ago. It is a Kingdom that comes not in a temporary takeover of political structures, hut in the lasting takeover of the human heart by the rule of a holy God.  Thus in the midst of the darkness all around us, and habitual chaos of earth, a light penetrates the darkness.  It cannot be extinguished; it is the light of the Kingdom of God.”

And now, too, with all the conflicts in the Mid-east, as well as Israel, who we must pray for and back,  they too have the hand of the living God upon their lives, their country, and we need to pray for our Jewish brothers and sisters as never before.  We are a Judeo Christian Sovereign Society, and they too were part of America’s inception.  We could not have won our own Revolutionary War without the Jewish bankers God had in place.  Thank you Lord for what you do in each and every one of us.  Open our eyes, take off the blinders, and search your hearts for what God would have you do in these end times.  America needs salvation badly.  “If my people who are called by my name, shall humble themselves , then will I save your land…”  Thank you God for using me this day…

The Holy Spirit Or Flesh

jesus_080There are so many Christians out there that have no knowledge whatsoever as to the works of the Holy Spirit. Does the Holy Spirit dwell in you?  Does “rivers of flowing waters” flow out of you?  When you engage in conversations with others are you lead by the Holy Spirit, or do you answer and speak impulsively in the flesh?  So many are confused with the term, “being led by the Lord”.

When Saul was on the road to Tarsus, and was a slave trader at the time, doing the work of evil, God in the manefestation of the HOLY SPIRIT, came upon him and spiritually, knocked him to the ground in Holy Revelation, and when he got up, not only was he saved, but he was filled with the HOLY SPIRIT, (Acts 10:44) and he was then Paul, the Apostle, who ministered to all around him.  Same with John Newton, who too, was a slave trader and was a wicked man, until the power of the HOLY SPIRIT came upon him.  Out of his awakening and salvation, he wrote, Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, to save a wretch like me.  Same, then as the history showed with Martin Luther, a devout Catholic, who gave up self, and struggled deeply in deep depressions and angst, because he knew that all the works, scrubbing floors in an abbey, and pleading with God, that he knew he hadn’t gained salvation, and struggled for years and years, til finally, the HOLY  SPIRIT fell upon him, and he knew that he knew he was saved by grace.   And out of that the Lutheran Church, was born, with an outcry from Catholic bureaucrats of the time.

Who is the Holy Spirit?  Acts 2-4 ” And when the Day of Pentacost” (where Pentacostal originated from) “was fully come they were all in one accord in one place” (not in the upper room but the Temple) “And suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting and there appeared unto them cloven tongues of fire and it sat upon each of them and they were all filled with the HOLY SPIRIT and began to speak in other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance.   We have no power against the enemy, Satan, if we do not have an indwelling of the Holy Spirit of God.  For we can rationalize and reason, until hell freezes over, but if we do not have the person of the HOlY SPIRIT in us, we are in the flesh in all our decisions, and day to day tasks, and have absolutely no discernment whatsoever.

The following was a Baptist teaching by Charles Stanley..and following 2 teaching tapes by Pentacostal Benny Hinn.   May they bless you immensely and may the Holy Spirit just fill you and spill out touching others.  Thank you Jesus…be blessed!

Walking in the Holy Spirit

Being Filled with the Holy Spirit

By Dr. Charles Stanley

The phrases “filled with the Holy Spirit” and “Spirit filled” in every case but one (see Ephesians 5:18) refer to the initial entry of the Holy Spirit into a person’s life. Jesus promised the coming of the Holy Spirit. When He arrived, Luke records that the people in the Upper Room were “filled with the Holy Spirit.” The Holy Spirit came to indwell them.

After the book of Acts, the filling of the Holy Spirit is not mentioned again except for the one instance in Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. There, however, his grammar and word order indicate that he has something in mind other than the indwelling ministry of the Holy Spirit. As pointed out, he is talking about surrendering to the influence of the Spirit.

Now all of this raises two questions. First, why aren’t there any more references to the filling of the Spirit in the New Testament? Surely in application-oriented books such as Romans and James, there should be some mention of the believer’s responsibility to be filled with the Spirit! But there isn’t. After the book of Acts, the whole concept of being filled with the Spirit drops out of sight except for once in Ephesians.

In light of that, the second question that begs to be asked is, what does the remainder of the New Testament have to say about the believer’s relationship with the Holy Spirit? If being filled with the Holy Spirit is not emphasized, what is?

These are two very important questions. Much confusion has stemmed from people’s refusal to deal with the implications of the biblical data or their ignorance of that data. But there is no cause for confusion.

A Time of Transition

When the Holy Spirit arrived on the day of Pentecost, there was tremendous excitement. Keep in mind, the focus of that excitement was His arrival and the manifestations of His presence through those He had come to indwell. The first manifestations were not character oriented. They were sign oriented. The Bible doesn’t say that after being filled with the Holy Spirit, those in the Upper Room went out with great patience, kindness, gentleness, and so on. It says they immediately began talking in other tongues. In that way, the unbelievers in the city knew that something supernatural had taken place.

Initially, it appeared that He came to indwell only those gathered in the Upper Room (see Acts 2:3-4). Soon, however, other believers were filled with the Holy Spirit (see Acts 4:31; 9:17). Everybody was not filled with the Holy Spirit at the same time. It happened in stages. Some have described it as a wave that slowly swept over the Christian community. During that time, some had Him, and some didn’t. That is why the author of Acts described some people as full of the Holy Spirit (see Acts 7:55). He wasn’t talking about their yielding to the Spirit. How would he know that? He was talking about the fact that the Holy Spirit had definitely come to dwell in them.

At some point, not too long after the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came to indwell all believers. Two things lead us to this conclusion.

1. There are no other recorded instances of individuals being filled with or receiving the Holy Spirit—apart from salvation—after Acts 19.

Paul encountered some believers who had never heard of the Holy Spirit (see Acts 19:2). He asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” Why did he ask them that? Because apparently by that time the Holy Spirit was filling people when they believed. The waiting was over!

When the fellows informed Paul that they didn’t know anything about the Holy Spirit, Paul was a little confused. The men were clearly an exception to what had become the rule by that time. He asked, “Into what then were you baptized?” It was his way of saying, “How in the world could you not know there was a Holy Spirit?”
The men had come to faith under the teaching of John the Baptist. After John was taken off the scene, those faithful men continued preaching his message: The Messiah is coming! Don’t you know they were amazed to hear all that had transpired in their absence?

The book of Acts continues for nine more chapters. But there are no other recorded instances of people being filled with the Spirit. Within a few years following the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit had swept through the world, filling those who had put their faith in Christ.

2. The New Testament authors specifically state that all believers are indwelt by the Holy Spirit.

In an open letter to the church in Corinth, Paul wrote, “For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 12:13)

Paul felt free to use the term all because he believed every believer had by that time been indwelt or filled by the Holy Spirit. He used two figures of speech to describe the filling of the Spirit. We have all been baptized into the body by the Spirit, and we have all been made to drink of the Spirit.

In an open letter to Christians everywhere, the apostle John wrote, “By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit” (1 John 4:13).Like Paul, John believed that believers everywhere were filled with the Spirit. The presence of the Holy Spirit is a source of assurance. We know we belong to Christ because His Spirit dwells in us. Without Him, there is no assurance.

Functions of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is not as mysterious and illusive as some would have us believe. The Holy Spirit is an integral part of our Christian experience. But because we are so unfamiliar with His ways, we miss Him. As long as we miss Him, we certainly can’t follow Him. And, you guessed it, as long as we can’t follow Him, we can’t experience the wonderful Spirit-filled life.

To get you thinking in the right direction, here is a list of a few tasks the Holy Spirit endeavors to accomplish in your life on a daily basis. Take a minute now to familiarize yourself with this list. Next time you experience one of these things, stop and thank the Holy Spirit. In doing so, you will develop a heightened awareness of His activity in your life. And at the risk of sounding like a broken record, the greater your awareness, the easier it will be to recognize Him and follow Him.

Once Saved Always Saved?

posters_126I’m addressing this issue as have never believed that “once saved is always saved.”  Good works, too, does not earn us salvation either.   I’ve known some “Christians” in my life that always had that “Holier than thou” attitude.  No one is right, except them.  Yet, everything out of their mouth is an attack and NEGATIVE, spewing nothing but false self-righteousness and evil.   If someone you know is like this?  Stay away, lest they pull you down to their level, for they are doing the work of Satan…not God Almighty.

Mathew 7:21-23“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ Hebrews 6:4-6 For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.

2Peter 2:20-22 For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. What the true proverb says has happened to them: “The dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.

2 Timothy 2:11-12 The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with him, we will also live with him; if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us; Ezekiel 18:24-26 But when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice and does the same abominations that the wicked person does, shall he live? None of the righteous deeds that he has done shall be remembered; for the treachery of which he is guilty and the sin he has committed, for them he shall die. “Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Hear now, O house of Israel: Is my way not just? Is it not your ways that are not just? When a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice, he shall die for it; for the injustice that he has done he shall die.

Hebrews 10:26-28 For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses.

1John 2:3-4 And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Romans 11:22 Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off.

Romans 2:6-8 He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury. Hebrews 6:1-20 Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And this we will do if God permits. For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come.

Revelation 2:4-7 But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. Yet this you have: you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.’ John 10:28-29 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hands. John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

John 3:18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

John 6:50-71 This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.” The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.

Revelation 3:1-6 “And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: ‘The words of him who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. “‘I know your works. You have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works complete in the sight of my God. Remember, then, what you received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come against you. Yet you have still a few names in Sardis, people who have not soiled their garments, and they will walk with me in white, for they are worthy. The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.

Acts 2:38-39 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”

Mark 11:25 “And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”

Mathew 24:13 “But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Hebrews 3:7-15  Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness, where your fathers put me to the test and saw my works for forty years. Therefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart; they have not known my ways.’ As I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter my rest.’”(Heaven).

1 Corinthians 10:1-13 “For I want you to know, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, and all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ. Nevertheless, with most of them God was not pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness.”

John 67-71 “So Jesus said to the Twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?” Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.” Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the Twelve? And yet one of you is a devil.” He spoke of Judas the son of Simon Iscariot, for he, one of the Twelve, was going to betray him.”

Matthew 24:24 “For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.”

Revelation 22:19 “And if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.”

Philippians 1:6 “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Meaning the work continues our whole life..and if  not, we don’t make it.

Ephesians 2:18 “For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.”  All of us who  call ourselves “saved” should be of ONE mind and SPIRIT lest Jesus is NOT in us!

Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your OWN doing; it is the gift of God.”    If you do not operate under the gifts of the Holy Spirit, you are operating in the FLESH, and the devil himself, no prayer, no God.

Galations 5:4 “You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace. ”  And lose your salvation…which was all in vain.

John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”  Wherefore if you act in your everyday life, and open your mouth before praying about your actions?  You are in the “world” and “flesh” and are an abomination to God.

Luke 6:46 “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?”  Again Satan wins out in a lot of lives that “think” they are Christian, while Jesus sees the truth.

Psalm 69:28 “Let them be blotted out of the book of the living; let them not be enrolled among the righteous.”  Again, once saved is not always saved.

Exodus 32:33 “But the Lord said to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against me, I will blot out of my book.”  Not make it to Heaven.

Jude 1:5-6 ” Now I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. And the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great day—”   All will be judged.

Titus 3:5 “He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit.”

Romans 3:23-26 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.”  HE is the only way to eternal peace.

John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”  And if we still by our actions do the things of the “world” and not “God and His Word”, then our religion is in vain, as we are doing the works of the devil.

Psalm 50:22-23 “Mark this, then, you who forget God, LEST I TEAR YOU APART, and there be none to deliver! The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me; to one who orders his way rightly I will show the salvation of God!”   Meaning if you don’t walk in LOVE and Jesus…HE will “tear” your apart, and tests and HIS judgment as HE will be the ADVOCATE of all those you hurt and speak ill of…period!

1 Peter 3:18-22 “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison, because they formerly did not obey, when God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water. Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him.”

Matthew 7:21-22 ” Not every one who says unto Me, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but, he who does the WILL of MY FATHER which is in HEAVEN.  Many will say to ME in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name? ..and done wonderful works?   These “things” arae not the criteria, but rather faith in Christ and what He did on that CROSS; meaning IT NEEDS TO BE A DENIAL OF SELF!  Revelation 3:15-16 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot: I wish you were cold or hot, so then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue you out of my mouth.”  Vomit you out… This the most important scripture…says it all…IT IS DIVINE REJECTION.

God cannot save the self righteous.   Luke 18:11-14 (Those who exalts him or herself.  Trusting yourself above God, means you think  your a “little God”, and He cannot save you.)  Matthew 5:20, John 8:44. Those who have “religion” but not righteousness (trees without fruit), Sounding brass!  “American Idol”, that have “other God’s before them instead of the one true God!  A Pharisee is Holier than thou, which means spirited, doctrinal positions, and has NOTHING TO DO WITH RIGHTEOUSNESS!

In this anything goes, pop culture, politically correct, hateful, society, living for Christ and keeping His  word is not an easy task.  It requires REPENTANCE, AND GETTING ON  OUR KNEES PETITIONING THE THRONE OF GOD! And when your down there remember too 1 Corinthians.  Verse 2:14 says, “But the natural man receives not the things from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, “(Just as some teach falsely that the gifts of the spirit in Acts are of the devil,  yet remember this, without these gifts it is the DEVIL that comes out of us..not the Holy Spirit.  I Coe 6:9 says “Do you not know that the unrighteous shall NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD?l BE NOT DECEIVED.”   In Chapter 10:12 Paul issues a warning …Let him who thinks he stands, take heed lest he fall..”  And lastly, all of Chapter 13 on love.  DO YOU EDIFY , LIFT UP, LOVE,  YOUR RELATIVES, FRIENDS, CO-WORKERS, AS CHRIST?  Or when you see someone you tear down, doing the work of the devil?   Do you cast the first stone, refusing to take out the boulder in your own eye?   Lastly, Jesus said, Matt. 10:14 “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth, I came not to send peace, but a SWORD.”  For the entrance of Christ into this world, when He died on the CROSS, manifested evil in the heart.  We can expect to be attacked for the CROSS…and the Blood He shed.  So in all you do, simply ask, am I tearing down with a critical spirit, or am I lifting this person up and edifying them?  Do I walk after the flesh and the things  of the world? Or am I walking in the Holy Spirit?  Out of our mouths can come cursing or blessings.  Do you bless?  Trouble is that no one in this youth generation fears God anymore.

From another post I wrote, quoting the preaching of Pastor John Hagee, “Righteousness People God Can’t Save”:

“Selfies”, “Perfect” People And Abuse

b0f76f58e7602732I have written here before on my disdain for this pop culture, now also this new term, “selfies”, which is exactly the opposite of the teachings of Christ.  I also include in this, as I’ve written before, today’s culture hating those of us “old.” Jacob was a cheater and had a limp, Peter had a temper, David had an affair and even had Bathsheba’s husband killed, Noah got drunk leaving himself easy prey, Jonah ran from God, Paul (as Saul) was a murderer and slave trader, Gideon was insecure, Miriam was a gossiper, Martha was a worrier, Thomas was a doubter, Sarah was impatient and doubted God, Elijah was depressed and suicidal after fighting Jezebel, Moses stuttered, Zaecheus was short, Sampson was easily deceived and taken in by Dalila, Abraham was old, Job had pride, as God allowed him to be tested, Lazarus was dead, and Judas betrayed Jesus.  God doesn’t call the “perfect” and the “qualified”, He qualifies those He called!  No one was EVER perfect, except our Lord.  However, God loved David, and he was the apple of God’s eye.  David’s cries to the Lord repenting are all through Psalms.  For that is what God wants us to do…repent.

“We repent of tarnishing YOUR glory with out bitterness, meanness, unforgiveness, pridefulness, unkindness, rudeness, SELF-righteousness or any sin .Verbal and emotional abuse .” YES it is ALL SIN..” that makes others think less of YOU.  We repent of gibing others the impression that YOU tolerate sin because we do.  We REPENT of our arrogance and pride that have led us to think we are sufficient in ourselves..  by Anne Graham Lotz

Many young people today have such an aversion to elderly, their parents, teachers, those in authority, and our society of rules and regulations.   A lot in the news today too, is the infliction of pain and bullying in schools, some that even led to suicide of the victim.  There is so much violence, sex, “meism” , self, money,  idolatry, and even occult in the media now, whereby, nothing is left to the imagination anymore.  The most perverse act is held up as the norm now.  We have no leaders that know how to lead, no one moral,  to lead an example for youth, no character, manners, politeness, no one humble, integrity, or honesty anymore.   Parents don’t set an example, teachers don’t teach, there are no scruples, the child is left on his own, women don’t act like women, but whores, or aggressive loud tarts, while men go their own illegal way in gangs, refusing to work or take responsibility for the children they bring into this world.  In other words anything goes…and we have become Sodom and Gomorrah.    And we wonder why there are so many divorces, murders, and crime and self-destruction.  It is the exact opposite of the teachings of Christ, but rather our media, Hollywood, and even our Government are doing the very work of the devil himself. Emotional (or psychological) abuse consists of the intentional infliction of mental anguish or distress on the older adult.

It can involve threatening, intimidating, insulting or demeaning an individual; for example, “If you wet yourself one more time, you’re going to the nursing home,” or “If you don’t sign this, I’m not going to give you your pain medication.” “Everybody yells at everybody at some point in time,” notes Lee Stones, a gerontologist based in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and regional consultant for the Ontario Strategy to Combat Elder Abuse. “It’s not the occasional unkind word but continual marginalizing, minimizing and yelling that constitutes abuse.” Emotional abuse can also include isolating a person from friends and relatives, not allowing him or her to have contact (either by talking on the phone or receiving visitors) with people outside the immediate household. Neglect takes place when, intentionally or unintentionally, a caregiver does not support the physical, emotional and social needs of the older person. It can include failure to provide food or medication, health services, or even an enriching environment; for example, confining him or her to an empty room with nothing to do. Neglect is usually the result of caregiver overload or ignorance concerning appropriate caregiving strategies.

“Someone might take in an elderly person to live with his or her family, but the caregivers themselves may already be overwhelmed with work responsibilities or health problems of their own and not be able to provide proper care for the elderly person,” says Sharon Brangman, division chief of geriatrics at the SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. In other situations, caregivers simply do not know what things they should be doing to properly care for the older individual. In extreme cases, abandonment occurs, wherein a caregiver totally deserts the elderly or dependent person. “This is where you’ve taken over care of an elderly person and you just can’t handle it anymore,” explains Laura Mosqueda, director of the Elder Abuse Forensic Center in Orange County, California. “So you might drop him off at an emergency room or you might take off for another state and not look back.”  Then, too in the news are many murder cases of elderly, killed by a 40-50 year old son, too lazy to work and robbing a parent who should be respected instead of tormented.

The Bible and Treating the Elderly with respect

“I read recently in a newspaper that instances of child abuse were rising in the United States, but instances of abuse of the elderly were rising twice as fast. This is one of the indications that treatment of the elderly needs to be an area of great concern to all of us. There seems to be two views of age in today’s society. The most prevalent view seems to be that of repulsion. Age is looked upon as an incurable disease. We fight against aging, we do not want to be reminded of what time can do to us. Thus, the aged elderly person is cast from society. They are made to feel useless, a burden to family, and often are cast off, avoided except on rare occasions of birthdays and Christmas morning. Another view is that age is beautiful. That age demands respect and dignity. That the elderly are giants of the forest, wise, full of experience, worthy of our praise and adoration. This is the view the Bible holds on age. In Proverbs 23:22, Solomon exhorts his son to “harken to your Father who begot you and do not despise your mother when she is old.”

In the story of Job, we find that Elihu the younger of Job’s friends waited until the older men had spoken to Job. He also treated his communication to Job with admiration and respect, since Job was his elder. In Exodus 20:12 we find the commandment – to honor your -father and mother, that your days may be long in the land which the Lord your God gives you. In Mark 7:10-12, we find Jesus saying, “He who speaks evil of his father and mother, let him surely die.” He goes on to say that the Pharisees had made void the law of God by their disgraceful treatment of the elderly. I am reminded of Caleb, who at the age of 85 came to Joshua and took possession of that inheritance he had earned. Age demands an inheritance. Old age should be a time for ego integrity. The elderly have made their mark on life. They have performed well, and have confidence that their life was well spent in raising children, making the world a better place, and in training the next generation. They have a wealth of wisdom to share, experience to relate, expressions and advice on life to share. They await new experiences, and are getting prepared for the last experience of this life, and for a whole new world beyond death. They have earned our love and respect. Nature herself teaches us that age demands dignity and honor. The older the redwoods, the more majestic. The older wines and cheeses are, the more they are praised and honored for taste. Should it not hold true that the older a man, the more he is to be appreciated by others. I am convinced that young people are missing one of the greatest opportunities available when they do not get to know the elderly and associate with them. All too soon these towering pillars of faith and wisdom will pass from our midst and the loss will be tremendous.

In closing, let us remember 4 lessons that might make all the difference in the world on our view of the elderly. First, age does not mean that someone is useless. I have been shamed by the failure of the young to use the talents of the elderly. I am inspired by their fighting spirit. In our efforts to destroy them we have tried to make them useless. They have fought back saying, “I exist. I have something to offer you if you will accept it.” I have been amazed at the elderly people who have accepted challenges of work in the church and done fantastic work. Get to know your elderly in your neighborhood or family. You might be surprised by their wit, humor, and their ability to guide you. Secondly, allow them to share with you their life. Some of the greatest lessons I learned about life, I learned from my grandfather.  He was 86 and full of cancer, yet he taught me some lessons on living. He was full of humor, wisdom, and was a strong man of faith in God. His advice I will never forget. I am reminded of Timothy as he learned from the Apostle Paul, an old warrior instructing the new recruit. Had Timothy now allowed Paul to share his life with him, the church might have been hurt, even destroyed where Timothy was concerned. Thirdly, age carries with it only one promise. That when we are old we will receive the respect, dignity and honor that is due us. That someone will care and want to return the love and care that was given so long ago to others. It is the Golden Rule in effect. They now want others to do unto them what they have done unto others. Fourthly, remember – growing old is not a disease or a woe to humanity. It is our right. It is a privilege allowed by God. It is an opportunity to be useful and productive a little longer in the service of our family and of our God. Truly age is beautiful.”

A Christian View of Divorce and Abuse

Keeping the faith in an abusive marriage
“One of my Welcome to Oz community support groups is WTOChristian. Often, members feel conflicted about divorcing an abusive spouse because of what the Bible says. Here is what the book Keeping the Faith: Guidance from Christian Women Facing Abuse by Marie M. Fortune (1987, HarperCollins) says about the subject:

We have always taught within the Christian tradition that the marriage covenant is broken by adultery or sexual unfaithfulness in marriage. The main reason that adultery is a problem is that it results in broken trust between man and wife. If the promise is made to be monogamous, then adultery breaks that promise. But we should realize that there are other kinds of unfaithfulness. Bringing violence into one’s marriage is also unfaithfulness. Once violence has entered a relationship, trust is destroyed. If you can’t trust your [spouse] not to hit you, what can you trust?

Anyone] who brings violence and abuse into [his or her] family life is putting asunder the marriage covenant that God has blessed. The violence is what breaks up the marriage, and the one responsible for that violence is the one responsible for the breakup. The actual divorce is in fact only the public acknowledgement of the private truth that the marriage has long been since destroyed by abuse. You are taking steps to let other people know what has happened to remove yourself from a destructive situation and get on with your life. There may be things in your past that you regret having done or that you are not proud of. There may be sins of which you have not repented. You may not go to church regularly nor do all the things that you think make a good Christian. But no matter what kinds of things you have done or neglected to do, you do not deserve to be abused, and God does not send this abuse to you as punishment. This book is written to remind you that God is present to you even now, and that there are Christians who do understand your pain, your fear, and your doubt. We will not turn away from you; we will not abandon you. We will walk with you as you seek to end the abuse in your life. Now, does “abuse” mean only physical abuse? I don’t think so. Here is the dictionary definition of “abuse”: 1. To use wrongly or improperly; misuse: to abuse one’s authority. 2. To treat in a harmful, injurious, or offensive way: to abuse a horse; to abuse one’s eyesight. 3. To speak insultingly, harshly, and unjustly to or about; revile; malign. 4. To commit sexual assault upon.”  end… It is therefore, relevant, and even urgent, that you have a cut-off point in this society now that has become so evil, and get into the word of God.   The Bible is our only salvation, wisdom, and truth on how we our to conduct our lives, in a selfish, greedy, warring world.  God, I ask you to reach the hearts of those that read this, and to seek God’s wisdom on their behavior, and actions in this the end times.  It can’t get much worse, but, God’s judgment and accountability are coming soon.   Help us Lord, in these evil times discern YOUR will upon all our lives, and help us to live accordingly.  Thank you Jesus…

What Price Freedom

“The greatest lever for change is awareness!” author unknown

On this 4th of July, America’s celebration of our Constitution and the one day of the year we celebrate our freedom and patriotism,  I am reminded of what is at stake, and what perpetuates our success or failures.  I am forever thankful when a brother, sister in Christ, a political or Christian leader, a world event, even a secular movie or tv documentary, or situation generates this amazing nudge by the Holy Spirit who gratefully puts all these thoughts together for what I hope is clarity.  I love my America, our veterans and those in active duty,  all that we have sacrificed,  for the freedoms we must not lose.

Glenn Beck is right about President Woodrow Wilson.  But, more so, the murky politics that urged him on, as well as a very alive Socialist party in our early 20th century.  I am not going into a heavy dose of this, enough has been written and can be searched easily.  But, in 1981, there was a movie out called “Reds” with Warren Beatty playing Jack Reed, the famed Socialist journalist who died in 1921.

Through  media, everyone has heard of the story glamorized of “Anastasia”.  She was while her father was alive, Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia, youngest daughter of Tsar Nicholas II (The Romanov’s) who was executed with her family in an extrajudicial killing  by members of the Cheka, the Bolshevik Secret Police, July 17, 1918.  Til today, there were rumors and movies of her possible escape, since the graves of her family were not revealed until 1991!  During her young life there was a traveling peasant called a “Holy” man, Grigori Rasputin.  Another who was viewed evil and hit headlines even in America.  By 1917 the family was under house arrest as the Bolsheviks approached, then murdered. (KGB like Putin during the Cold War.)

Enter American Socialist Journalist Jack Reed, who wrote “Ten Day’s That Shook the World”…(and it’s still shaking now with Arabs.)  The “Workers Union, and Socialism started way back then.  Imagine, the Socialist movement, in our Democratic Party, the idealism of Obama, started 97 years ago!  HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF!  The Socialist movement gained ground here by illiterate workers wanting to overthrow Capitalism and free trade, our Constitution, our Founding Fathers and the Federalist papers, our freedom. Instead Wilson at that time lead us into WWI, lying to Americans.

During the Bolchevik Revolution  4 million Russian people died!  They had no freedom but bread lines, eating only bread and cabbage.  Many died of typhoid, KGB firing squads and it was a system that could not work then, nor could it work now!  Meanwhile Reed was on a quest, and went to Russia, sickly too, with only 1 kidney, and eventually died there in 1921. The Bolchevik’s wouldn’t let him come home to America, since he was such a good organizer, and WAY BACK THEN, THEY WANTED TO EXPAND THIS MOVEMENT AS OBAMA DOES, TO THE MID EAST!  When Reed traveled to these Arab countries, in this movement that caught fire, there were effigies of Uncle Sam with our American Flag, being burned.   And who gave it the name, to motivate, of “Holy” War?  The Russian Bolcheviks.

So as my previous post said, 6 million Jews with all their talents and genius, were slaughtered to be replaced by the Arabs!   And Russia started it then, and has their hands in it now. Socialism didn’t work then, nor did it work then with us, when we had the great depression, with bread lines here just like in Russia…AFTER WWI.  Think about all that is coming from is a repeat , and even while he fights with Putin, they have EXACTLY the same ideologies…Marxism, Socialism, with 70 members of House and Senate in the American Socialist Party, including Harry Reed.   Unfortunately, Glenn Beck didn’t delve deep enough, as Reed was a master at deceit and organizing this movement. which is Communism.

I might add, that Beatty was brilliant in “Reds”, but, couldn’t have been that prolific acting Reed’s speeches, without believing exactly in everything, coming out of Russia at the time, then and now.  It is Communism.  Beatty received awards from “Americans for Democratic Action”, a member of Brennan Center for Justice, Center for National Policy, Progressive Majority, Counsel on Foreign Relations, even attends the World Economic Forums at Davos, Switzerland.  Needless to say, Beatty along with his sister, Shirley McClain, and three forths of Hollywood, are Communist.  And who influences, has the monies to donate to the Democratic Party promoting their Communist agenda? Hollywood. Beware of what you watch and your children.  Look at these organizations above, that is a lot of influence, that we need to generate with intelligent, honest CHRISTIAN, conservatives!  WE NEED that voice! And make no mistake, we need also from our pulpits, organizational skills and God’s voice and will to perpetuate!  Imagine Beatty was brought up Baptist?  Wow!  Warren, will you ever be judged by God Almighty!

I know that I know that God has tried to wake America up and if we don’t listen we lose all our freedoms, and possibly our Constitution, and it could be replaced by Sharia law and Communism.  Have we got on our knees and repented and interceded for America, our leaders, and who we vote for?  The Establishment won’t cut it.  God will not hold us sinless if we keep silent and SURRENDER TO NO ONE ELSE BUT HIM!  If it is evil, we STAND and be vocal!  Email your Congress, Senate, local Governors and leaders…even this President.  I do. I fear no man…only God.

I love the prayers of Anne Graham Lotz, I have been receiving by email this week.

” We worship You, Lord Jesus Christ, for YOU are the incarnation of God’s wisdom.  Your thoughts higher than ours.  We repent of our attitude of familiarity (Daddy) with you that has caused us to lose our reverential fear of You, and thus we have not even the beginning of wisdom with which to handle the vast knowledge we possess.  We repent of complaining as we wring our hands in despair, thinking our nation and world are falling apart when they are really falling into place…right at your feet.  We repent of striving to control our own destiny, or our church’s ministry, or our nation’s priorities so that they conform to our agenda.  We repent of feeling entitled to and demanding what someone else has earned, (and our Government) instead of taking responsibility for ourselves and our families as we trust YOU.   Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive all…  “That power is like the working of His mighty strength, which HE exerted in Christ when He raised HIM from the dead and seated HIM at HIS right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age, but also in the one to come.  And God placed in all things under HIS feet..” Ephesians 1:19-22.

My prayer too, for the America I love, Israel, it’s safety, and this world that is exploding, and God’s hand on our whole earth. Prayer too for Warren Beatty that he renounce his wicked Communist ways, and come back to the God of his childhood, Jesus.  I pray too for an implosion of revelation in Hollywood, our left Media, and our left politicians, to repent as their idealogies hold no ground, only destroys and never worked in almost 100 years. I lastly pray Lord for Revival..and let all know YOU are the ONLY answer. Amen

Define Tolerance

The following is a copy of an article written by Spanish writer Sebastian Vilar Rodrigez and published in a Spanish newspaper on Jan. 15, 2011. It doesn’t take much imagination to extrapolate the message to the rest of Europe – and possibly to the rest of the world.

“I walked down the street in Barcelona and suddenly discovered a terrible truth – Europe died in Auschwitz … We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims. In Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world.

The contribution of this people is felt in all areas of life: science, art, international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the world. These are the people we burned.

And under the pretense of tolerance, and because we wanted to prove to ourselves that we were cured of the disease of racism, we opened our gates to 20 million Muslimswho brought us stupidity and ignorance, religious extremism and lack of tolerance,  crime and poverty, due to an unwillingness to work and support their families with pride.  (Proverbs says “Pride cometh before the fall.”)

They have blown up our trains and turned our beautiful  Spanish cities into the third world, drowning in filth and crime. Shut up in the apartments they receive free from the government, they plan the murder and destruction of their naive hosts.

And thus, in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred, creative skill for destructive skill, intelligence for  backwardness and superstition. We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews of Europe and their talent for a better future for their children, their determined clinging to life because life is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed by the desire for death for themselves and others, for our children and theirs.

What a terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe (Germany) A lot of Americans have become so insulated from reality that they imagine America can suffer defeat without any inconvenience to themselves. Recently, the UK debated whether to remove The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it ‘offends’ the Muslim population which claims it never occurred. It is not removed as yet. However, this is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving in to it.

It is now more than seventy years after the Second World War in Europe ended. This was an e-mail that was sent as a memorial chain, in memory of the six  million Jews, twenty million Russians, ten million Christians, and nineteen-hundred Catholic priests who were ‘murdered, raped, burned, starved, beaten, experimented on and humiliated.’ Now, more than ever, with Iran , among others, claiming the Holocaust to be ‘a myth,’ it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets.

How many years will it be before the attack on the ‘World Trade Centre’ ‘NEVER HAPPENED’  because it offends some Muslim in the United States ? If our Judeo-Christian heritage is offensive to  Muslims, they should pack up and move to Iran  , Iraq or some other Muslim country. “

The German people were lied to by a madman named Hitler and were totally blinded.  After our troops went in Germany at the end of WWII, the German people were faced with piles and miles of dead skeletal bodies, and had to bury them all by hand, including children.  It took Germany 40 years to rebuild their cities and the carnage left behind that all these unschooled, hateful Muslims in their Caliphate that is happening now, want to lie to you now in America.   I will continue to sound the warning, (not claiming to be a prophet of God), but just one who hears God say, “sound the alarm!”  We will be attacked again, Dick Cheney was right. It is not “if” but “when”.  Learn your history.  Look up Muslim history  and pray for innocents now in Europe, and our allies who allowed Christianity; Lebanon, Turkey, and Jordan..our allies, who I fear are next after Syria and Iraq.  Will you STAND and PRAY with me for God’s will to be done?  Pray for our Jewish friends in Israel and our Christians in Egypt.   The world is like combustion, ready to erupt, and  God is allowing,  HE has a plan…and there will be victory, but the cost can be great.  Look at the three young Jewish teens just murdered and found in a ditch.  Lord, send your army…put an end to this in Jesus name.
