The Annointing And Why We Pray

There were 3 Sections in Solomon’s Temple, which will be rebuilt again, (in spite of the Arab and Muslim objections, for the Dome of the Rock WILL come down. )  The first section is he Outer Court, then the  Holy Place, which goes into the Holy of Holies, and has a white veil between.  It goes east to west with the 3 tribes all around. They had to come THROUGH THE GATE.   Before entering the Outer Court, you come in from the “world” as we do going into church.

John 14:6, Matt 7:13  Prayer isn’t as much us “getting” from God, it’s about finding the ONE.  Prayer is about TRANSFORMATION.   “The closer I get to God the more I pray, the closer to God I get!  We come in from the “world” with all it’s “stuff” , (language, pop culture, toys, garbage, alcohol, drugs, secular laws, being “politically correct”, and every day, having things rammed down our throats!)

When we enter into this life of Christ and go into this “outer court”…we enter through the “narrow gate”.  It should be a time that the Holy Spirit deals profoundly with us…a time of cleansing so deep in Jesus and prayer…having a hunger so deep for more of HIS word!  When God first put me at Faith Christian Center in 1984, I was immediately introduced to the Holy Spirit as soon as I walked through  those doors, (a sign over saying “Enter His Courts With Praise”.)  I was shaking, the presence of God was so great…and tears running down my face.  It was a process to last a few years, with all I went through at the time here as I was only saved 2 years, and I had no idea of the reality of Jesus Christ or the Holy Spirit.  It seemed I just cried all the time.  Here I was in that outer court, sitting before HIM in all my sins, SELF-focused.   Then I fell in love with my Jesus, and continued to cry all the time. 1984-89   We begin in those early years to see the greatness of God – We’re getting FREE!  Worshiping and praising HIM, giving HIM ALL the glory in ALL things.

We are NOT meant to stay in that “outer court” fluctuating between going back in the world, and back to the outer court.  We are playing at church if we do, and become TOO SELF-CENTERED.   (I, My, Me!)  If we spend years like that?  God is going to take His hands off of us, and we will lose our salvation, and be put through HIS judgment and tests and trials until God has HIS way with us.

We should have the hunger to move on to the HOLY PLACE…THE LAMPSTAND & CANDLE STAND…IN DAILY PRAYER.   PRAYER, PRAISE, WORSHIP, DAILY!  IT represents Pentacost.  It’s a place of Revelation, as the alter of incense. It’s intent IS TO CHANGE US!  There is growth and intimacy that comes with God!  We are to pray in the spirit (tongues, which is the Baptism of the Spirit in Acts.  The more we push forward, the more we become more like Jesus…and care about OTHERS more than ourselves.  We are a recipient of His love, grace, and mercy.  Praying “oh God please give me a new car, and straighten out my husband, I’ve had more than I can take.” Is not praying in the spirit and praising HIM.

We need to approach the veil, to the 2nd the HOLY PLACE.  In the 3rd place, the Holy of Holies, in the Old Testament only 1 priest could enter.  In actuality, he had to walk backwards, as the bright light of God and the Holy Spirit was so bright and mind boggling, and God had said that anyone who looked back then, would be struck dead.  Just as he sprinkled the blood of the sacrifices and was set apart. Ex. 33:5. But in Hebrews 10:12-14 JESUS took the place of that blood sacrifice, hanging on that CROSS.  He made a way for us to have a personal relationship and walk.  Matt. 7:51. The moment He died that “curtain” was torn for us to go THROUGH!  Heb 10:19 Having the boldness to go through the veil to the Holy of Holies.  Heb. 10:16 This is OUR COVENANT with HIM!  With our hearts broken when HE takes from us and ALL the sins go away.  It no longer is all about “ME” but “HIM “!!!  We then begin to eat, sleep, and DRINK HIS word!  We then can go DEEPER INTO THE HOLY OF HOLIES …THEN AND ONLY THEN CAN WE GO BACK  IN THE WORLD, CHANGED….AND WORK FOR HIM, NOT AGAINST HIM WORLDLY AND SELFISH.  THAT IS WHEN WE BECOME WORLD CHANGERS, an open vessel to LET GOD USE US IN A PROFOUND WAY…TO WITNESSING JESUS TO THE HIGHEST AND LOWEST OF HUMANITY.  It becomes a natural progression.  Prayer has a cycle as God DEALS with us and gives us Revelation!

Matt. 26:36-46 Jesus is in the garden here in prayer, knowing He is going to the Cross.  He was full of sorrow while the disciples slept instead of praying too.  He talks to God the Father, asking if it could be taken from him.   But, finally, he cries out, “Your Will Be Done” Father”….Not his will but GODS will!  Watch and pray lest you enter all the TEMPTATIONS.  We are NOT GOING TO GET WHERE WE NEED TO BE WITHOUT PRAYER.  GOD WILL CALL US AND OUR FLESH IS WEAK IN THE WORLD…IN ALL OUR WORLDLY DECISIONS!  WE NEED PRAYER, FOR THAT IS WHAT JESUS RECONCILED THERE IN MATTHEW THAT GOD MANDATED THAT HE GO TO THE CROSS FOR OUR SINS..AND THE SINS OF MANKIND.

THE ANNOINTING:

Benny Hinn wrote “God clearly spoke to me,  “I don’t anoint vessels that are empty to me.  I anoint vessels that are full of me.  When we receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit – being immersed in HIM, filled to overflowing, indwelt.  The experience is real, not merely emotion and goose bumps.  Then the fruit of the Spirit should pour out of our lives, touching those  around us.   When that occurs, the Lord will anoint us as we walk with and obey Him, and at that point the power begins –the power to serve HIM.  Then we can boldly inherit the promises of God to see the unbeliever’s heart soften and turn toward God and to see the signs and wonders like those recorded in the book of Acts. In other words your COUNTENANCE WILL SHINE.”

“You will recall that when Moses saw the glory and presence of God at Mount Sinai he descended with his face shining like a light.  People could not even look at his face.  When you, too, have an encounter  with the presence of God it will be obvious.  It may even show on your face and certainly will show in your CONDUCT!  Your countenance will announce to those around you, “I am different.  I have been in the presence of God Almighty.  Fear is the first result of self-consciousness, and boldness is the first result of God-consciousness.  When we become God-conscious, we are no longer forced to trust in ourselves and our own strength, but God’s presence resides within, bringing power and authority to our lives.  We no longer must fight battles in our own strength, but we can boldly all upon God Almighty through the authority of he Spirit. ”

We all  are sinners, but, now we must confess our sins constantly in prayer and moaning to the Lord.  It is an ongoing commitment to seek forgiveness and  seek guidance , but you need to get on with communing with the LORD with the Lord, listening to and talking about the things that are on HIS heart.  You need to love HIM and thank HIM and worship HIM.  This the fruit of HIS presence. The other things will come in HIS timing not yours.  Five minutes in the presence of God in fellowship with HIM, are worth a year in the me-me-me mode.

Remember I John 2:27 “But the anointing which you have received from HIM abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things,  and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in HIM.”  Just remember repentance and the blood of Christ, which, of course, go hand in glove.  To the fact that you’re born again, I say, “Hallelujah!”  To the thought that repentance is therefore behind you and no longer an issue, I say, “No way!”   Acts 2:38, follows Peter’s remarkable sermon to the unbelievers in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.  The listeners were “cut to the heart” and they asked,  “What can we do?”  Peter replied:  “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized  in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”  So we have the promise of power after the coming of the Spirit upon us.  Spirit.  Anointing.  Power.  And they come after repentance.  For the key is repentance.  It puts you on the road to great fire and you will reach the destination God intends.  What is it all for?  To be “witnesses unto ME.”  Again, the key is REPENTANCE!

So what does repentance mean?  Let’s start with what it doesn’t mean.  It doesn’t mean to go to the altar, shed a few tears and say I’m sorry, Lord,”  and go out to do the same thing.  Repentance is a daily experience.  And it’s a supernatural experience, not something you can humanly accomplish y yourself.  It’s a gift of the Holy Spirit.  Repentance rests on “whoever confesses and forsakes them [his sins] will have mercy”

Many do not like Bennie Hinn, but many years ago I had the privilege of seeing him live in Worcester Colosseum in Massachusetts, for 3 nights.  We were way up in the top of that huge auditorium with at least 25,000 people there every night.  I’ll tell you when it was silent and Bennie called on the Holy Spirit, there was a cloud over that place on the ceiling and during prayer you could hear a pin drop the power was so great.  I hunger for this power.  I want more…MORE…MORE GOD!  There is nothing like a Holy Spirit filled  move of God on you to anoint you and work THROUGH YOU!   OH, THE JOY OF THE LORD!   If this is what Heaven is going to be like, I can’t wait!  Glory!   Why would anyone saved not want a closer relationship with our Lord?  Thank you Jesus…Bless all who are transformed in your name, Lord. Pour your anointing on all your spirit filled churches God in America and around the world Lord…make us hungry for YOU Lord and give us JOY in abundance Father God, as we fall in love with you all over…REFRESH…SEND YOUR REVIVAL!   (Excerpts from Benny Hinn’s book The Anointing.)
