“The Storm Is Upon Us”  From Rev. Franklin Graham, Decision Magazine

“For some time now, I’ve been warning about the coming storm of religious persecution and oppression in America. Over the course of the past year, I’ve become increasingly convinced that the storm is no longer just approaching, it is hard upon us.

The threats to the historic and sacred history of our nation’s religious liberty are advancing on several prominent fronts.

At press time, we are awaiting the Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage. Many expect the judges to rule against the once universally held definition of marriage as between one man and one woman. Some are hoping that the court will refer the matter to the states, where the will of the people and conservative values have resulted in the defeat of same-sex marriage in 31 states since 1998.

Dr. James Dobson outlined the enormous consequences of the decision in a letter to his supporters.

“I do not recall a time when the institutions of marriage and family have faced such peril, or when the forces arrayed against them were more formidable or determined,” he said. “Barring a miracle, the family that has existed since antiquity will likely crumble.

“Marriage represents the very foundation of human social order. Everything of value sits on that base. Institutions, governments, prosperity, religious liberty and the welfare of children are all dependent on its stability. When it is weakened or undermined, the entire superstructure begins to wobble.”

Regardless of the court’s decision, it’s clear that the combined agents of cultural indoctrination—the judicial powers, the educational elite, the extremely biased and liberal media, and the hate-filled, intolerant gay/lesbian lobby—have gained enormous ground in the war against traditional marriage and biblical norms.

Listen to the words of a young Canadian adult who has seen how seismic the moral change can be when a country adopts the homosexual agenda into its governance. Dawn Stefanowicz was one of six adult children of gay parents who filed amicus briefs with the U.S. Supreme Court asking for the court to maintain the traditional definition of marriage.

“I want to warn America to expect severe erosion of First Amendment freedoms if the U.S. Supreme Court mandates same-sex marriage,” she wrote in an article for Public Discourse, an online publication of the Witherspoon Institute. “The consequences have played out in Canada for 10 years now, and they are truly Orwellian in nature and scope.

“In Canada, freedoms of speech, press, religion and association have suffered greatly due to government pressure. The debate over same-sex marriage taking place in the United States could not legally exist in Canada today. Because of legal restrictions on speech, if you say or write anything considered ‘homophobic’ (including by definition anything questioning same-sex marriage), you could face discipline, termination of employment or prosecution by the government.”

Unless we see a surprise reversal of the godless forces that are relentlessly seeking to undermine the bedrock, biblical precepts that have undergirded our moral behavior for centuries, I am afraid we could be in the same dreadful state as our northern neighbor.

As an anonymous professor who was interviewed by the American Conservative pointedly said: “We are now at the point at which it is legitimate to ask if sexual autonomy is more important than the First Amendment.”

The continued outcry of atheists against any expression of religious freedom (pages 8-17), the bullying tactics of LGBT activists (page 4) and the large numbers of people who care nothing about God or spiritual matters (pages 24-29) reveals that the moral state of our union is perilous indeed. I have no doubt our nation is teetering on the edge of a gaping moral abyss.

Our only hope is a spiritual awakening.

That’s why beginning early next year, I intend to travel to all 50 states to proclaim loudly and clearly that believers in the Lord Jesus Christ must take a stand now if we hope to see our children and grandchildren grow up in a nation with the profound blessings that religious freedom brings.

As we elect a new president in 2016, I will do all I can to turn our attention to the priority and power of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. No political party can save us. No amount of legislation that ignores and forsakes moral precepts can bring about true, lasting hope and change.

I do believe, however, that bold Christian men and women should run for office at every level—local, state and national. Think about what a profound difference it would make if we had committed followers of Christ serving on local school boards, city councils, as mayors, in state halls and holding national offices.

Christians have a biblical commission—to be salt and light in a dark world—in addition to the Great Commission of evangelism and discipleship. We are to be the “good infection,” in the words of C.S. Lewis, touching our neighborhoods, communities, schools and businesses with the compassion and truth of Christ.

The Bible is clear that the world system has always been opposed to the things of God. The Apostle John wrote that “the whole world lies in the power of the evil one” (1 John 5:19).

That said, I am standing up for the truth and principles of God’s Word. There is transformation power in the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ—power to change hearts and souls, even cultures, as redeemed men and women live holy, uncompromising lives for Christ.

Now is the time to take a stand, before it is too late. ©2015 BGEA”

“True followers of Jesus Christ, whose salvation is based entirely upon God’s Word, cannot endorse same-sex marriage, regardless of what our President, the Congress, the Supreme Court, the media or the latest Gallup poll says about the matter,” said Rev. Graham in his May 2014 column for Decisionmagazine.

“This moral issue has been settled by God Himself and is not subject to man-made revisions or modifications,” he said. “In the end, I would rather be on the wrong side of public opinion than on the wrong side of Almighty God who established the standard of living for the world He created. Marriage is a biblically moral issue, not a political or theological one.”
“At the time, Rev. Graham, who is head of the international Christian aid group Samaritan’s Purse, said,“In our country today, there is tremendous pressure on Christians, churches, and Christian organizations to lower our moral standards. God is clear in His Word, and His standards never change. I’m thankful that Christians across the country urged World Vision to reverse their decision, and prayed fervently that they would do so. Three cheers.”
First, we need to be very clear on what marriage is and what it is not. Marriage is not the government or church’s endorsement of strongly held, even sincere, affection. It is an institution central to the human experience by which children are best produced, protected, and promoted. Thus it is distinguished by a unique, robust, and ongoing “oneness.” Oneness of this kind implies sexual complementarianism (male and female come together in a what same-sex couples cannot), procreative potential (even if not actual), exclusivity, and permanence. In other words, marriage involves more than being “in love,” being sexually intimate, or even being committed as important as those things are.

“Third, the church must model healthy marriage. This is something each of one of can do. No matter how far our culture goes to deny the obvious facts about marriage, there will always be a desire within the human heart to experience family as God designed it.

Fourth, be prepared for thoughtful conversations about marriage. Marriage can be defended from the Bible, but also without using the Bible. And in our book Same-Sex Marriage we offer both. We want to help Christians give thoughtful answers to tough questions about marriage.

And finally, we have to be more consistent. It’s not lost on the gay community that the church held no (or at least very few) marches or rallies against no-fault divorce, adultery, or other things that have done even greater harm to marriage and families. There is a reason that the gay community feels singled out. Though we are often unfairly accused of bigotry and hate, we have been inconsistent.”

*From Christianity Today:

“Recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions striking down the Defense of Marriage Act, and essentially nullifying California Proposition 8’s ban on same-sex marriage, mark a new era in America’s approach to homosexuality and the church’s response as well. Since the right of same-sex couples to marry has been all but ratified by the court, and since public opinion has solidly shifted toward acceptance of homosexual marriage, individual believers, church bodies, and parachurch ministries face a complex set of questions and challenges.”

“Maybe we’ve had it too easy. Historically in America, the Christian voice was not only heard but also affirmed. Values preached from the pulpit on Sunday were echoed at school, home, the workplace, and even, to a large extent, through the entertainment industry. Surely the culture was never the church, but on questions of moral versus immoral, or natural versus unnatural, the same mores prevailed in virtually all sectors. So whether or not our theology was accepted (often yes, sometimes no), the relational guidelines springing from that theology were seldom challenged, making biblical standards regarding family and sexuality the commonly held standards of the community as well.”

*From Now What?
Doctor fired for telling truth about homosexuality.
Open letter to Dr. Kevin Tabb, MD at:   ktabb@bidmc.harvard.edu
“Dr Church did not deserve to be fired!  Your stance with your liberal agenda on Gays, and “Gay Pride” is going to backfire.  It is NOT normal behavior and was a decade and more ago, called a mental illness…WHICH IT IS!   Are you going to tell me you think 2 sick males that adopt a little baby girl is acceptable behavior?  Does anyone think of what that little baby girl will go through growing up seeing all these males coming and going and hearing sick acts in the next room, or maybe being molested too?   The way this country has gone, will have DIRE effects on our society as a whole and also the children of same sex couples, who are already speaking out.  What you liberals are shoving down the throat of the American people and those who do not agree with you also will have dire repercussions.  Just as Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed so will America for we were not founded on this.  There are absolutely no morals whatsoever in this sick society as it is.  NONE!  And yes, I’m a Christian.  Marriage is between a man and a woman, and I don’t care WHAT the Supreme Court comes out with today.
I know someone who was born a girl.  She had a sex change operation in the 70’s…Only now he is saved and a Christian.  He counsels those online now against having this surgery.  Those who have had it, are very messed up individuals.  It IS a mental illness. Your a hospital for God’s sake, and you can’t see it?  I’ve known Christians, that came to the Cross of Jesus Gay…and God changed them and they married, and are happy in the Lord.  For no Gay is going to go to heaven unless they repent. And no transgender person is going to go to heaven unless they repent, and their “new body in Christ” will be as GOD made them in the delivery room.
If Alzheimer’s, Bi-polar, etc.  are chemical imbalances of the brain, don’t  you think that possibly being attracted to the same sex might be too, not to mention a hormone problem?  I went to school in the 50’s with a young man, and he was so effeminate pther guys laughed behind his back just to see him walk.  He got hormonal treatments in the 60’s, married and had children.  These people have chaotic very sick lives.  And children should not even be allowed to be adopted by same sex couples.  And mark my words, sir, within the next 10-20 years, you are going to hear of HORROR stories coming from the children of these couples.  And one other thing, too, most of these gays have been molested as children, (as those in the Catholic Church), as my cousin was too.
But, what you have done to Dr. Church, for speaking out, and I say shame on you. A hospital? Why the heck aren’t you doing research on the causes of these people.  They may have a laser cure to go in the brain in the future with Alzheimer’s and I hope mental illlness’s too.  Here you have the opportunity to do what is right, and research, instead you fire a doctor that has a different opinion than you..  Yet, he is right!  And you are wrong!
From C.S. Lewis in “Mere Christianity” Book 4.  “When a man makes a moral choice two things are involved.  One is the act of choosing.  The other is the various feelings, impulses, etc. which his psychological outfit presents him with, and which are the RAW material of his choice.  Now this raw material may be of two kinds. Either it may be what we would call normal; it may consist of the sort of feelings that are common to all men.  Or else it may consist of quite unnatural feelings” (being gay or transgender used be called a mental illness and I think is.)  “due to things that are really wrong in his subconscious.  Thus fear of things that are really dangerous would be an example of the first kind, an irrational fear of cats or spiders would be an example of the second kind.  The desire of a man for a woman would be the first kind; the perverted desire of a man for a man (or woman for a woman) would be the second.  What psychoanalysis undertakes to do is to remove the abnormal feeling, that is, to give the man better raw material for his acts of choice, morality is concerned with the acts of choice  themselves.   However, much you improve the man’s raw material, you have still got something else; the real, free choice of the man, on the material presented to him.”
“The bad psychological material is NOT a sin, but a disease.  It does not need to be repented of, but to be cured! Human beings judge each other by their external actions.  God judges them by their moral choices.  When a neurotic who has a pathological horror of cats forces himself to pick up a cat (maybe to save him from a car), in God’s eyes he has shown more courage than a healthy man may have shown in winning the V.C.  When a man who has been perverted from his youth and taught that cruelty is the right thing, does some tiny little kindness, or refrains from some cruelty he might have committed, and thereby, perhaps, risks being sneered at” (or killed if in a gang) “by his companions, he may, in God’s eyes, be doing more than you and I would do if we gave up life itself for a friend.”
“One last point.  Remember that, as I said, the right direction leads not only to peace but to knowledge.  When a man is getting better he understands more and more clearly the evil that is still left in him.  When a man is getting worse he understands his own badness less and less.  A moderately bad man knows he is not very good; a thoroughly bad man thinks he is all right.” (I think of Obama now and his left Communist ideologies from his childhood associations with Marshall.)  “You understand sleep when you are awake, not while you are sleeping.  You can see mistakes in arithmetic when your mind is working properly; while you are making them you cannot see them.  You can understand the nature of drunkenness when you are sober, not when you are drunk.  Good people know about both good and evil, bad people do not know about either.”  C S Lewis
My consensus has and always will be these people are mentally ill, and have something wrong in their brain/and or hormonal.  Why have the majority of men turned  Gay after being molested by Catholic priests?  This is a psychiatric problem. Only now because of courts, they are either in some lawyers pocket and there is a lack of.   Here you have missed an opportunity to REALLY research, but, instead you fire and side with the “minority” in society, not the “majority”.  And you will pay a dire price as well as all of America.  And to ram this in a sex ed class to small children in public schools goes against everything morally I believe in.  For MY generation, had prayer in schools, we were overachievers after WWII.  Now? Anything in this sick world goes, from occult on tv to Gays.  THAT is not my America but the destruction of America!  And you are wrong.  My word. “
“A conservative is someone who STANDS athwart history, yelling STOP, at a time when no one is inclined to do so, or have much patience with those who urge it.”  William F. Buckley, Jr.
